Video game series The Sims turns 15 this year, with Sims 4 (launched last year) being a great revamp from its older, sadder-looking self. With amazing graphics, an improved user interface, and exciting gameplay, Sims 4 is taking over the world. As of February 2015, Electronic Arts has also finally released the Sims 4 Mac for the world to use and enjoy.
Mxims: '. Apple MacBook Pro 2016 15.4' Functional. Apple MacBook Pro 2016 15.4' Deco. Apple iPhone X Deco. Enamel Coffee Mug. IKEA Alex-Adils Desk. Yeezy Boost 350 Box. Mac spice and velvet teddy. After I was able to get the game to start it ran so slow that it wasnt playable. https://torrent-mango.mystrikingly.com/blog/uninstallpkg-1-1-2. My mac's specs are way over the game requirments. I'm sure there is a fix somewhere on the internet for this as well but I've had enough. I'll just go back to playing civ4 for mac (which I highly recommend!) Civilization 4: Gold Edition. Sims 4 on 2020 MacBook Pro I have a 13 inch, 8gb, and 500gb MacBook Pro. I tried to run sims 4 on it for the first time and it just got overheated within 4-5 minutes and then fans started going fast like it was about to blow up and it scared me lol so I shut it off.
But while the game is much improved, it is also much harder to master. Gone are the times when you can aimlessly manipulate the Sims world — you will now have to complete tasks, fulfill aspirations, and meet goals in order to fully master this new game. Here are some tips to becoming a true pro at Sims 4.
The first step to becoming a pro is to make sure you're playing in Pro mode. That means no more tutorials. Those tutorials can be really annoying, so go to your origin account, right click on the Sims 4 game and click on game properties. After that, type in '–no_tutorial' and load the game up. You will be tutorial-free!
The Create-A-Sim functions are so much more complex, allowing you to stretch and mould your Sim into something entirely your own. If you're anxious to get started, you can simply get into the Community page and download pre-made characters that fellow players have made before. You can try checking out hashtags to explore the possibilities — #celebrities helped me find a pretty decent Nicki Minaj.
You can even download houses to get some of the really elaborate stuff — I'm talking massive castles and mansions that would have usually taken you half a day to build. Just download it and place it in a space that's big enough — and you're all set!
I decided to get Thor and Loki from the Marvel franchise, and set them up in a pretty sweet mansionette.
What I found really annoying is that the televisions are tiny — if you want a really big screen TV, you have to fork out crazy amounts of money to buy it — and even then it's not so big.
Sims 4 comes with a nifty new trick where you can up or downsize an item. Tableedit for mac. Simply get into the cheats menu (Ctrl-Shift-C) and type in Shift+[ to downsize, or Shift+] to upsize.
It works with TVs and a few paintings, but carpets seem to be a problem. I also wouldn't recommend applying the trick to usable items like chairs and kitchen appliances.
Here's Thor and Loki enjoying the news on their new theatre-sized TV.
The great thing about Sims 4 is that they make it so much harder to complete certain tasks than in the previous Sims. Parties are one instance where the challenge makes it much more interesting. To host a successful party that is ranked either Bronze, Silver, or Gold, you have to meet certain goals. Main goals have to be met before the time ends in order for your party to be considered a success, while meeting extra goals will rank your party higher.
The key is to know the goals and prep beforehand.
| Party | Main Goal |
| House Party | The Host(s) must socialize 12 times |
| Dinner Party | Call Guests to Meal |
| Birthday Party | Blow our candles |
| Date | Socialize 10 times |
| Wedding | Get married |
| Incognito Party (Digital Deluxe) | Talk with guests about costumes 10 times |
| White and Black Party | Discuss Black and White things 10 times |
| Weenie Roast (Outdoor Retreat) | Roast 3 hotdogs |
It helps to have at least two Sims to control before you throw a party involving large groups of people, because one Sim alone will not do enough to complete the goals. Make sure that you can control the Sim handling food, because most caterers are not reliable, and will miss out on important things like the cake.
Certain tasks also require you to complete some group activities, so make sure you have a stereo, bar, TV, and card table, at least.
You may also want to do some crowd-control, especially for house parties. Block out parts of the house where you don't want guests to wander to, and keep things that could be distractions, like computers and food in the fridge.
After that, you can hit those goals like a pro and get your gold-ranked social event.
Much like Sims 3, the fulfillment of aspirations and whims will get you points, which you can then use to claim special traits for your Sim, like 'Never Weary' or 'High Metabolism'. Sims 4, however, gives you something new to aspire for — potions.
These potions have a more temporary effect, like setting your mood for the next few hours or acting as a Sleep replacement, but are quite handy in changing the pace of the game for a little while. My personal favourite is the Insta-lean, which removes the fat from your Sim instantly, leaving a toned, muscled individual. Don't we wish we had that in real life?
Another interesting change in Sims 4 is the moodlet, which makes gameplay much more diverse. In careers or even in accomplishing goals, the mood that your Sim is in affects them greatly, as it does to us in real life.
But how do you manipulate moods?
You can buy a tea brewer that will be able to make specific teas, helping your Sims feel specific moods. The only problem is that it costs quite a bit, and they make it by the pot. So if you have a house full of teenagers or adults wanting to get focused before school/work, a pot would even out the costs well. Otherwise, it might be quite pricey.
Just click on any book store, and search for the mood books. You can tell by the descriptions what mood a particular book will invoke. The problem with this is that it will take some time for your mood to change, as compared to a shower or a cup of tea.
This one is pretty self-explanatory:
While there are tons of things you could do to change your Sim's mood — especially with specific careers and skills obtained — here are some very basic actions that any Sim can do at any time to have a quick mood swap.
Because everyone knows that you haven't really played Sims until you've mastered all the cheats. Here are the basic ones you'd need to know for that perfect game. Be sure to type in Ctrl+Shift+C to open up the cheat text box first.
First, you need to type 'testingcheats true' into the cheats bracket. After that, you will have access to several other functions.
Following are the main features that you will be able to experience after the first install on your Operating System.Expansion Mod Pack
Brookheights – Open World
Beta Testing – Now
Public release – 2020
Help Amos find his origins. Go on an adventure all around the world to find out clues about his missing parents, and where they came from. You might end up going to a whole new world, without limits…
This New York City inspired world is not like other worlds in the Sims 4. It's an Open World! but what does it mean? An 'Open World' is a large area in a video-game that doesn't require loading screens, you can move around this playable area freely.
The way this open world works is different than the ones in The Sims 3 though. In Brookheights, there's a single active lot in the middle, and a huge playable & interactive area all around. This was made possible when I started creating interactive shell buildings a few months ago. They are buildings that are either 'Open Venues' or 'Rabbitholes' (more about them down below).
You can do many things there : rent a lodge in the Greenmount Forest, go to a Broadstreet Musical, drive a car, go to the Gym, Graveyard, Outdoor-Cinema, City Hall, Grocery Store, and so much more… all this without loading screens.
The performance requirements aren't known yet, the beta testing will help understand which machines can run Brookheights smoothly. The pack provides an optimised GraphicsRules.sgr file, that can help get a smoother game.
A new 360×360 (expandable) world with no loading screens is now in your hands. Get ready to take a SulSul Airlines flight, and go to Brookheights. Many venues are surrounding you, zoom out to see the 3D mapview of the world. Go anywhere! Enjoy!
The story mode gives you the opportunity to go on an adventure to help Amos find the hidden world… If you don't want to play the story mode, there is a cheat to go to the hidden world.
The new interactive buildings are the essence of the Open World. there are 2 types:
– Open Venue: this building will fade out when you zoom in, allowing you to see what's happening inside, and play inside of it.
– Rabbithole: a building in which your sims can do (or buy) many things. They won't fade away this time, they are keeping their secrets, you can't see inside & your sims won't be visible.
Buy your own car and drive it! You can even route your car, giving you more control over how your sims drive. Want a faster car? Go to the Vehicle Court in West Brookheights, you can buy a new one there!
Hop on a plane, fly first class if you can afford to, visit the whole world and go to the City. You can even drive the planes, if you become a pilot…
Send your sims to work in the city, make your own decisions, and follow them around the world. The first open career available is SulSul Airlines Pilot. You can fly tourists to Selvadorada, or even celebrities to Del Sol Valley. I've heard that Lady Gogo goes there on each Friday… is it true?
This pack also includes a few build/buy items. Off Lot Walls, Room Hider, a cute chair, cars, a hammock, spiral staircase, and much more…
Use either my World Edit interactions (not fully ready yet) to create and move buildings and decor around the world. For more precision, use the T.O.O.L mod created by TwistedMexi. Please do not get in touch with him about Brookheights, his work is completely separated from mine, you should join the discord server here to get help if needed: https://discord.gg/gG3VvBm
The world is located in my custom 'Brookheights' save file for now, but in a future update you will be able to import it to other save files. For now, in all your other save files, you will find a blank world, ready to be filled only using your creative skills and imagination. Share them on my upcoming World Gallery, for everyone to download.
More Careers? Schools? More venues? A theme park? A bigger world?
Get an update each month, expanding the playable area and the gameplay.
Follow the discoveries of Amos and get help to find the world… on your phone.
The Brookheights Companion is a phone web app that helps you follow the tutorials, shows the full map with a description of each venue.
It helps you to get along with the way the mod pack works, so you can play on Fullscreen on your computer and still find advice while playing.
Discover the Brookheights Map here! Each blue tag is an Open Venue, each Green Tag is a rabbithole, and each pink tag is a subway station. Over the next few months, this world will expand, so will the map.
